SATURDAY MORNING is a twist of masculine shapes and feminine ease.
The new capsule collection SATURDAY MORNING, part of the MARNI SUMMER EDITION 2013, combines outerwear and loungewear inspired pieces to create a metropolitan and relaxed wardrobe. Oversize shorts and trousers, wide skirts and tops, clean cut shirts and k-ways mix and mingle in a light way. Materials include cotton, technical voile and jersey cotton in white, light grey and pink. Black is used as technical and decorative detail and recurs as a graphic accent.
The collection features a special collaboration with Dutch artist Rop van Mierlo. Blotchy shapes of animals – a donkey, a tiger, a parrot and an ostrich which has been created by the artist exclusively for Marni – are printed onto t-shirts. The subjects are part of van Mierlo’s book Wild Animals.
Accessories include foulards in silk, shopping bags in PVC with leather handles and animal brooches, which create quirky accents.

This season Marni worked along with Art director Dean Langley to present the collection in a site-specific installation.
